Fall's a coming

Well it that time of year again. When the trees begin to shed the summer greenery and turn to blazing colors of gold, red, rust and shades in between. It is nature getting ready to take a nap and she does it in style.

It's also the time for snowbirds to fly south for the winter. Well at least roll south. We started our prep in August. We made a one week trip with one of our grand daughters to Gettysburg Farms in PA. It's a 1000 Trails/Outdoor World preserve with much, much to keep the young ones busy but the area it's self also hold a lot of entertainment.

We spent one day at Indian Echo Caverns. Another day was spent at Hummlestown, PA at the miniature railroad. It is a model city with the railroad as a main theme. Eye level for small children where they can let their imagination run

wild at their own level. From the model railroad it was a stones throw to the real thing and the chance for a little one to ride the big boy. Pumping steam. whistle blowing. Chugging as it pulls a load of cars behind. Oh, and don't forget the cinders from the coal burner. Ah the memories.

For the young one's who attending the CG there are geese, cows, horses, goats and turkeys to feed and pet. There is a hay ride to take them through a long and winding trip through the corn fields. And of course there is the pool to cool one off during those hot summer days.

It was a nice way to prepare for the upcoming travel season. That is for those who don't have to haul kids around to the different activities they the children attend. For them its the end of the travel season.
